Dark money has no place in the 47th Ward
Gus Katsafaros Candidate for Alderman of the 47th Ward in response to Pawar rips Ricketts-backed group as flyer furor grows | Crain’s Chicago Business
(Chicago) Forty-seventh Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar criticized a new community group with close ties to the Ricketts family saying that its use of “dark money” to mail thousands of political flyers in the Lakeview neighborhood resembles the tactics of Russian agents and the National Rifle Association.
- I completely, wholeheartedly agree with Alderman Pawar.
- Special interests and dark money have no place in the 47th Ward.
- Forty-seventh Ward residents should make decisions for the forty-seventh Ward and not special interest groups that hide their donors and their dark money
- We need independent and local leadership in the 47th Ward not rubber stamps for the mayor and especially not outside special interests and billionaires. We are an independent ward and we must remain independent.
I am the independent voice in this race and I am beholden to the residents of the 47th ward and I am not beholden to any political organization, special interest groups or Republican billionaires.
